跨越南北回歸線，到南島文化藝術重鎮棲包屋文化中心展覽，對台灣原住民當代藝術走入國際平台，是很重要的一步，也是高雄市立美術館深耕南島當代藝術展現成果的開始。本展覽共展出27位藝術家，52組件作品，並與原住民文化園區合作徵選4位藝術家至棲包屋文化中心駐館創作，讓本展覽展出樣貌更為豐富與多元。

　　For the contemporary indigenous art of Taiwan, to cross the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and be exhibited at the Tjibaou Cultural Center, a hub of Austronesian culture and art, is a significant step toward the international stage. It is also a great achievement of the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts ( KMFA ), which has spared no effort in promoting contemporary Austronesian art. The exhibition features 52 pieces/sets of works by 27 artists. Moreover, in cooperation with the Bureau of Cultural Park, Council of Indigenous Peoples, the KMFA has selected four artists for the artist-in-residence program to be conducted at the Tjibaou Cultural Center, attempting to add richness and diversity to the exhibition.
