張恩慈（b. 1983，高雄），2009 年畢業於國立高雄師範大學美術學系研究所，曾獲第25屆高雄獎（2008）、路易威登台北藝文空間徵件計畫評審特別獎（2010），並曾駐村於紐約長島水磨坊（2009）及巴黎西帖國際藝術中心（2015）。其作品曾獲邀展出於日本東京森美術館、美國康乃爾大學強生美術館等國際機構，並於台灣、紐約、東京及韓國參與展覽。
 
張恩慈的創作探討影像如何塑造集體記憶，透過刺繡、軟雕塑與裝置藝術，在柔軟與暴力、現實與童話之間製造張力。她經常取材自大眾文化，特別是童話公主的經典場景，並透過異化、縫合、穿刺與重組，將這些深植人心的影像轉化為當代歷史的隱喻。她的創作不僅是個人敘事，更挑戰影像歷史、消費文化與觀看方式。她在材質與符號之間穿梭，使日常物件（織線、布料、玩偶）成為承載個體與社會記憶的載體，讓柔軟成為一種對抗力量。她的作品讓童話不再是單純的敘事，而是一種充滿裂縫、被縫合與重新定義的歷史。
 
Chang En-Tzu (b. 1983, Kaohsiung, Taiwan) received her MFA from National Kaohsiung
Normal University in 2009. She was awarded the 25th Kaohsiung Award (2008) and the Jury’s Special Prize at the Louis Vuitton Taipei Art Space Open Call (2010). She has participated in artist residencies at Watermill Center, New York (2009), and Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2015). Her works have been exhibited at major international institutions, including the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, and the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University, USA, as well as in exhibitions across Taiwan, New York, Tokyo, and South Korea.
 
Chang En-Tzu’s practice explores how images shape collective memory, employing
embroidery, soft sculpture, and installation art to create tensions between softness and
violence, reality and fairy tales. She often appropriates iconic scenes from classic fairy tale princess narratives, deconstructing and reconstructing these deeply embedded cultural images through distortion, stitching, piercing, and reconfiguration, transforming them into metaphors for contemporary history. Her work goes beyond personal narratives, actively challenging image history, consumer culture, and modes of visual perception. Moving fluidly between materials and symbols, she reconfigures everyday objects—threads, fabrics, and dolls—as vessels for individual and collective memory. In doing so, she subverts the notion of softness, presenting it instead as a form of resistance. Her works fracture the idealized narratives of fairy tales, turning them into histories that are stitched together, fragmented, and redefined.
