The Secret Garden in the Corner—Solo Exhibition by Kuo Chao-Yin

2018.05.05 - 2018.07.08 KMFA Gallery B01

Kuo Chao-Yin uses hemp ropes as material and stacks them one with another, weaving up a scene where imaginaries come across dreams. These common objects have turned in to art creations through unitary repeating actions, piling up, making collages and letting artworks look enormous. Cleverly combining the flexible and strong characteristic of the ropes, she colors them up and turns them into all kinds of seeds, plants, nests, hives….and some other natural scenes. There are ten colorful fairy tale lands at the exhibition venue. She redefines the meanings of imaginary secret lands in daily life, encouraging everyone to be more sensitive about themselves, the memories, and the environments we are in, so as to find out the coexisting values and meanings to live with our environment.
