Travelers are like birds of passage, moving and migrating with the rhythms of life on this land. Spreading their wings, looking through the past and present of Kaohsiung, in search of the next place to settle down or simply to fly for the sake of flying itself. In their journey, they listen, and in their stay, they sing songs about the meanings of love, companionship, memories, and nostalgia.
 
"Listening is the Thing with Feathers" captures the landscapes from the mountains, urban cities, to the seaside of Kaohsiung through aerial photography, recording the changing faces of the land in the context of modern societal transformation. Showcasing various experiences and flavors within it, the work also creates melodies dedicated to those who strive in their lives. Based on artist Wu Siou-Ming's long-developed project "Surrounding Spectrum", it analyzes and extracts color parameters from the images and uses algorithms to create AI-generated music, allowing landscapes to be audible. Through this way of perception, one can experience the stories and emotions of the city.
