Eagle Tears - Nanako LIU Solo Exhibition
2023.12.30 - 2024.02.18
KMFA B1 KSpace
A black eagle, guided by the sounds of nature and the call of the land, embarked on a journey through time and space to search for tears that had fallen in different eras. It crossed different dimensions in pursuit of self-completeness, marking artist Nanako LIU's quest for self-discovery.
Back to her hometown, Kaohsiung, and through a field study, Nanako LIU's dialogue with local plants extended into a conversation spanning thousands of years, involving indigenous cultures from Asia and South America and extraterrestrial consciousness from different dimensions. This dialogue explores self-exploration, identity recognition, time travel, and human and nature/culture connections.
Through photography, painting, sound, video, and dance performances, audiences are immersed in the inner world of an artist. This pilgrimage titled "Tears Shed from Past Lives" delves into identity issues across time and reflects on humanity's role within the natural world.
