Dear Animals
2024.06.29 - 2025.08.31
KCMA Gallery 101-201
Humans and chimpanzees share a common ancestor and have similar genes, but humans often regard themselves as a superior species. By domesticating and keeping animals, humans have changed the animals' world. As the population grows and economies develop, forests are cleared, and habitats are destroyed. This puts many species at risk, forcing them to change their behaviors, and some are even facing extinction.
Children usually love animals. Being close to animals can help kids develop their communication skills, empathy, and sense of responsibility, and it can also help calm their emotions. In recent years, with declining birth rates and changes in society, pets have become important family members. Many artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Salvador Dalí, were avid cat lovers. To them, animals were not just sources of inspiration but also symbols in their creative work.
